LEADERS IN WILDERNESS

Northwest Adventure Safaris offers a wide variety of unique and exciting safaris in East Africa, from traditional wildlife viewing safaris, mountain trekking and climbing, hiking and backpacking in the bush and visits to the coast of the Indian Ocean. We also run community service (gap year) programs geared to college age students, though people of any age can take part.

Many of our team members have been trained by the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and have years of experience working for both NOLS and Batian’s View Experiential Education Center. We also have Maasai representatives in the Maasai Mara and the Loita Hills who assist us at our primitive camp sites and while trekking through the bush in the Loita Hills.

BATIAN'S VIEW EDUCAtion center

Northwest Adventure Safaris operates out of Batian’s View Education Center, a private institution that teaches staff training, risk management and community service where their main mission is to provide exceptional character development opportunities and guidance for people and communities to explore their full leadership potential through safe hands-on learning. Located approximately 110 miles (about a 3.5 hour drive) north of Nairobi. Batian’s View is situated in a beautiful, wooded area next to the Naro Moru River on the lower slopes of Mount Kenya. All our climbs of Mount Kenya originate here.

We often spend a couple days here during wildlife viewing safaris. This is a great place to relax, get some laundry done and enjoy the wildlife that may visit the compound such as acrobatic colobus monkeys, bush buck and a variety of birds. We may visit some local schools, go for a hike in the forest or take the short drive north for a game drive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
