Meet the team behind Northwest Adventure Safaris
Peter Kafuna is one of Kenya’s most respected outdoor educators and safari operators. He began his career with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in 1992, spending eleven years as a field instructor in Alaska, Wyoming, Utah and East Africa. He then served as Operations Manager of the NOLS East Africa branch for four years. After the East Africa branch closed in 2003, Kafuna became Programs Coordinator and chief trainer at Batian’s View Experiential Education Center, where he helped develop team building and adventure courses for both schools and businesses. This is a position he still holds in addition to operating Northwest Adventures Safaris. Kafuna is also a member of the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya. Kafuna graduated from Kenyatta University in 1985 and spent seven years as a high school science teacher prior to beginning his career as an outdoor educator.
