Our wilderness safari will have you walking in the wild in the Nguruman Forest and Loita Hills east of the Maasai Mara. This is in the heart of Maasailand and will give you a perfect chance to interact with the local Maasai and learn about their culture firsthand. The terrain is one of contrasts, from arid savanna and acacia thornbush country to dense high elevation cloud forest. As we hike, we will be accompanied by at least two Maasai tribesman. 

On the savanna you are likely to see many plains animals such as wildebeests, zebra and several species of gazelles as well as Maasai herding their cattle and goats. From the top of the Nguruman Escarpment, you will have breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley and red colored Lake Magadi in the distance. We will follow trails made by elephants and buffalos as we climb to over 8,000 feet into the cloud forest that rims the Rift Valley. Here, you are likely to see acrobatic Colobus monkeys leaping from limb to limb in the canopy above.

We can organize a hike of a few days or longer trips up to three weeks. If you like, you can participate with route planning, map reading and navigation. You can carry all your own gear along with part of the food and equipment as well as share in camp chores. Or you can let us do the work while you enjoy the experience of hiking through the African bush. You will only need to carry a day pack while porters or donkeys carry the bulk our gear to the next camp.
